Chippewas 15th, Yturralde 11th as Virtues Invitational Wraps Up

CMU to compete in Bubba Barnett Invitational on Oct. 2-3
NASHPORT, Ohio — The Central Michigan men's golf team carded an 884 on Tuesday to finish 15th of 17 teams in the Virtues Intercollegiate, hosted by Miami (Ohio) at the Virtues Golf Club.
The Chippewas shot 290 and 292 on Monday, then 302 in the final round.
Michigan's Ben Hoagland and Yuqi Liu shared the tournament title with a 9-under 207 as the Wolverines combined for a 34-under 830 to top the team rankings.
Philippe Yturralde placed 11th with a 5-under 211, having broken the CMU Men's Golf program 54-hole record after carding a (74, 66) 4-under 140 on Monday. The record was previously held by senior Arie Jackman at 214.
The Chippewas' Jeffrey Andrus finished tied for 51st (222), having shot a 77 on Tuesday. Easton Phillips shot 78 (224) to place T-57.
Jackman placed T-68 and Trey Rusthoven finished 86th.
The Chippewas are scheduled to travel to Jonesboro, Ark. to compete in Arkansas State's Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate on Oct. 2-3 at the RidgePointe Country Club.
