CMU Athletics is looking for driven students who have an interest in pursuing a career in college athletics. We are committed to providing students with practical experiences and knowledge that will prepare them to pursue a career in college athletics.ÂApplicants should apply on TeamWork Online  to their specific area of interest. Athletics Communications
Assists with publicity and coverage of CMU’s varsity teams. Will be responsible to research, compile and add statistics and records from CMU legacy sports and current sports to cmuchippewas.com. The intern will also help to organize digital photo files. Will have game-day responsibilities at various sporting events. In addition, the office is always looking for photographers, graphic designers, videographers, writers, and social media specialists.

Marketing/Brand Management
Help develop, manage and execute digital marketing programs, promotions and campaigns for digital channels to include: social media advertising, website management, and other initiatives as approved by senior management. Work directly with senior leadership team and external team to enhance the athletic department’s brand management. Ideal candidates have a strong background in writing and/or graphic design. A pillar of our department will be exceptional fan experience. In order to do this, we must be able to share stories and experiences related to CMU athletics.

Business Operations
Purchasing and Accounts Payable - Assist in the process of athletics purchase requests in accordance with university purchasing policies. Assist in preparing all athletics payables paying attention to EADA/NCAA reporting standards and sending them to university payables department. Budget Support – Assist with current financial accounting systems and reporting. Based on identified needs, develop financial system reporting templates and/or reports. Participate in month end analyses to summarize, reconcile, and report financial data from SAP. Occasional front office support includes answering phones and greeting guests of the athletic department.

Chippewa Athletic Fund
This position will provide the intern experience in the day-to-day operation of a collegiate athletic development office using Millennium donor software, event planning/management and sponsorship/donor solicitations. Other various duties may include making phone solicitations during membership drive, processing donations, assisting with the organization of membership benefits and planning events.Â

Compliance/NIL
Essential duties will be to prepare initial-eligibility assessments for incoming high school prospects, create rules education flyers for student-athletes, assist with coaches and staff compliance education initiatives, review phone call logs, contact and evaluation records and analyze data using ARMS and NCAA Compliance Assistant software. Additional duties will include maintaining student-athlete files to ensure that all required NCAA and MAC documentation is up-to-date, assist with monitoring student-athlete employment and verify information with employers, assist with maintaining the student-athlete database, input all demographic and academic information, design and run reports as needed. Other duties as assigned. Create a program designed to equip CMU student-athletes with the knowledge and tools necessary to maximize their brand and platform. Work with the Mid-American Conference and CMU’s compliance staff to create an overall plan to educate our student-athletes on all items related to future Name, Image, Likeness legislation.  Areas of focus will be branding, business operations, NCAA education, camps and clinics, etc.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion/Leadership
Assist the Athletics Department’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee to position CMU as a leader in the Mid-American Conference. Will be tasked with researching other institution’s programming and develop a plan for CMU. Will require collaboration with CMU’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Leadership Institute.  Assist the external team with the creation, review, and implementation of an Athletics Impact Study within our community.The initial framework for next steps will be provided, but this individual will lead this project with assistance from athletics department staff members. Will involve interactions with local community and university members to highlight the impact that CMU Athletics provides from an exposure, footprint, and experience standpoint.

Student-Athlete Services – Academics
Assists the Student-Athlete Services staff in carrying out internal operations of the Dick Enberg Academic Center. Interns will assist the Student-Athlete Services staff in various tasks related to the academic performance and enrichment of student-athlete as well as administrative duties. Assists with the planning and execution of the wholistic student-athlete experience and development programming that includes personal development, professional/career development, leadership development, and community engagement. Implement comprehensive educational programming specifically for at-risk student-athletes in a 1:1 setting. Interns would meet with assigned student-athletes multiple times per week in effort to cover reading comprehension, writing skills, note taking, and test taking strategies.Â

Tickets
Assist with the daily operations of the ticket office using Tickets.com ticketing software and ARMS. This position will provide the intern experience in operating a ticket office for multiple intercollegiate athletics, managing events, and data collection and organization. Other various duties may include processing ticket orders, administering player pass lists, assisting with renewal call campaigns, and helping to coordinate the seat cushion process for football season. Clinical experiences would include the administration and operations of daily athletic training room management as well as on-field/on-court practice and competition coverage and management.
