Yturralde Leads Men's Golf at Hoosier Intercollegiate

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Philippe Yturralde shot 79-76 – 155 on Saturday to lead the Central Michigan men's golf team during the first two rounds of the Hoosier Collegiate on Indiana University's Pfau Course.
The Chippewas opened with a 319 team score and then posted a second-round 306 for a 625 36-hole total. They are in 14th place in the 14-team field, two shots behind 13th-place IUPUI.
Yturralde is tied for 41st in the 78-player field.
Also for the Chippewas on Saturday, Orlando Coons shot 81-76 – 157; Ethan Jaehn shot 83-74 – 157; Arie Jackman shot 79-80 – 159; and Easton Phillips shot 80-80 – 160. Coons and Jaehn are tied for 57th.
CMU's Jeffrey Andrus, playing as an individual, shot 78-80 – 158.
The third and final round of the 54-hole event is scheduled for Sunday (8:30 a.m.).
Chattanooga, which shot 293-291 – 584, leads the tournament by seven shots over host Indiana (298-293 – 591). Illinois State (296-299 – 595) is third.
Jay Nimmo of Murray State shot an even-par 70-72 – 142 and leads the tournament by one shot over Indiana's Thomas Hursey and Chattanooga's Paul Conroy.
