Jackman 4th, Yturralde 10th on Day 1 of Murray State Tourney

Yturralde's Score Leads 7th-Place Chippewas; Jackman 4th as an Individual
MURRAY, Ky. — Two Central Michigan men's golfers are in the top 10 after the first two rounds of play on Monday in Murray State's 'The Buddy' tournament at the Miller Memorial Golf Course.
Arie Jackman, who is playing as an individual, shot two 2-under 69s (-4, 138) to close the day tied for fourth place. Philippe Yturralde leads the Chippewas and is tied for 10th place. He shot a 1-over 72 in round one and 2-under 69 in round two (-1, 141).
Jackman and Yturralde each made an Eagle on hole 17 in round one.
CMU is in 7th of the 10-team field with a score of 296-287—583 (+15), ahead of Evansville (B), Eastern Illinois and Trevecca Nazarene.
The Chippewas' second-round score of 287 is a 18-hole team record, previously set at 289 earlier this season at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate on Oct. 2. The 36-hole score of 583 is one shy of tying the 36-hole record, also set earlier this year at the Virtues Intercollegiate (Sept. 25).
Southern Indiana shot a 12-under 284-272 – 556 to lead the field with three players in the top 10. Evansville (A)'s Caleb Wassmer shot a 5-under 64 in round two paired with a 1-under 70 in round one (-8, 134) to rank 1st on the player leaderboard. Host Murray State is 3rd.
Also for the Chippewas on Monday, Jeffrey Andrus shot a pair of 1-over 72s (144) and is tied for 24th. Orlando Coons shot 73 and 72 (+3, 145) to end the day tied for 32nd.
Easton Phillips (tied 54th) shot 80-74—154 and Trey Rusthoven (tied 56th) carded a 5-over 155 (79, 76).
As the final tournament on the fall slate, the Chippewas will play the final round on Tuesday morning.
