The Voice of the Chippewas, Adam Jaksa, serves as the play-by-play voice for Central Michigan football and men’s basketball as well as all ESPN3/ESPN Plus broadcasts involving CMU athletic teams, including basketball, wrestling, volleyball and gymnastics.
On top of his on-air responsibilities, Jaksa produces, edits, and performs master of ceremonies duties during live events such as the Chippewa Athletic Awards, the annual Central Michigan University Marcy Weston Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and other various banquets and public events.
He also creates and produces video and audio features of Chippewa student-athletes and varsity programs for various social media platforms and supervises and mentors students and student broadcasters for the university’s student radio station, WMHW 91.5 FM. He serves as a mentor for students who perform public address announcing, sideline reporting, play-by-play and color commentary for CMU events, ESPN broadcasts and streams.
A native of Eaton Rapids and a CMU graduate, Jaksa holds a bachelor of applied arts degree with a major in broadcast and cinematic arts and a minor in sports management.
His extensive resumé includes play-by-play broadcasting experience for streamed events carried by ESPN, the Big Ten and ACC networks, Fox Sports Detroit, and as a talk show host for The Game 730-AM in Lansing and WMAX 96.1-FM in Grand Rapids.
He has served as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Lansing Lugnuts minor league baseball team since 2019 and as a broadcaster for Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets G-League affiliates, as well as events at Michigan State, Virginia, Wofford and Oakland.
