Assistant Coach - Director of External Affairs

Heather Cato joined the Central Michigan women's soccer program as an assistant coach in April, 2016.

Cato serves under head coach Peter McGahey as the Director of External Affairs, handling recruiting, video coordination, scouting and scheduling. On the field, Cato mentors the Chippewas' goalkeepers and attacking players.

Cato served as the head coach at Division II Rogers (Okla.) State from 2014-15, was the head coach at Division III Whitman (Wash.) College from 2010-13, and served as the assistant goalkeeping coach/recruiting coordinator at Arkansas-Little Rock from 2001-03. She also has extensive experience in the youth/club coaching ranks.

Cato was a four-year starter at Arkansas from 1996-99 and played on the U.S. Women's National U-20 Team. She ranks as the seventh all-time leading scorer in Razorback history with 24 career goals.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas and her Master of Arts degree from Arkansas-Little Rock
