Central Michigan women’s basketball coach Heather Oesterle named Sarah Miles to an assistant coaching position on her staff in July 2020.
Miles previously served as an assistant coach at Northwestern State (La.) (2019-20) and Colorado State Pueblo (2017-19).
From 2016-17, Miles was a graduate assistant at her alma mater, West Virginia, helping the Mountaineers to win the Big 12 Tournament championship. She also worked as an instructor at High Octane Performance Skills in San Antonio, Texas in 2014, where she developed athletes who would go on to play at Duke and Texas Tech.
Miles was a four-year player on the women’s basketball team at WVU, earning the Big East Most Improved Player Award (2008-09) and Big East Defensive Player of the Year honors (2009-10). She was also named to the All-Big East Tournament Team and Second Team All-Big East as a junior, leading the Mountaineers to a 29-6 record.
Miles also played professionally for a season for Forssa Finland, receiving All-Finnish League Honorable Mention recognition while helping her team reach the league semifinals.
Miles holds a bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies, with a focus in entrepreneurship, public relations and communications from West Virginia University and is working toward a master's degree in athletic coaching education.
