MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan volleyball will launch its spring exhibition schedule on Friday, March 16, at Fort Wayne, kicking off a four-date slate.
CMU will play two home dates and two away during the spring.
“We’re really excited about our 2018 spring schedule and the challenge it provides to us,” said coach Mike Gawlik, who is entering his third season in charge of the program. “After graduating four seniors who played big roles for us throughout the previous few seasons, it’s vital that this new group be tested against some tough competition.”
The Chippewas are scheduled to play at home on Friday, March 30, against two in-state rivals, Ferris State and Michigan State. CMU will then play another in-state foe, Oakland, on Friday April 6, and then closes the spring schedule on Friday April 20, against Bowling Green at Premier Academy in Maumee, Ohio.
“We wanted to craft a schedule that tested us to play many styles of volleyball,” Gawlik said. Michigan State, Oakland, Ferris State, Fort Wayne and Bowling Green all play in different conferences and have identified unique ways to be successful. We hope our fans will be able to see us prepare for the 2018 campaign.”
CMU finished 15-14 last season, including 7-9 in the MAC.
