Two Chippewa pitchers, Laura Vaccaro and Cloe Mallory, rank among the top 10 in the league in earned run average. Vaccaro is first with a 1.96, while Mallory is ninth at 2.70.
Laura Vaccaro’s home run, the first of her career, highlighted a four-run Chippewa sixth inning.
Lacy Tolfree led the Chippewas’ 10-hit attack with three hits against Lehigh. Erika Underwood had two hits and drove in three runs, and Shaidan Knapp also had two hits.
The Chippewas (7-10) fell to Saint Joseph’s, 5-4, in nine innings and Chattanooga, 6-3. CMU will look to bounce back against Villanova (11:15 a.m.) and Lehigh (4:15 p.m.) on Saturday.
