MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Twelve Central Michigan student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference women’s soccer team.
To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must carry a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of her team’s contests.
Beetcher is an exercise science: kinesiology major with a 3.82 grade point average; Matheson a mechanical engineering major with a 3.66 GPA; and Sherry a human resources management major with a 3.42 GPA.
Six other Chippewas were named to the squad for the second consecutive year. They are Madison Costner, junior, 3.53, exercise science: kinesiology; Meghan Sweeney, senior, 3.52, exercise science: kinesiology; Madison Pogarch, junior, 3.51, exercise science: health fitness; Shannon Magnan, junior, 3.49, finance; Mary Carlson, junior, 3.48, mathematics; Jamie Rademacher, senior, 3.47, sociology: social and criminal justice.
Other CMU players who were named to the academic honor squad for the first time: Marle Bringard, sophomore, 3.93, biology; Zoie Reed, junior, 3.32, exercise science: health fitness; and Ally Viazanko, redshirt freshman, 3.20, undecided.
