Field Hockey Closes Season Friday At Ball State

SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan field hockey team will play its final game of the season on the road in a Mid-American Conference matchup at Ball State on Friday (3 p.m.).

CMU NOTES
• The Chippewas are 0-17, 0-5 MAC after dropping a 4-0 nonconference decision to No. 4 Michigan on Tuesday.

• Friday's game is the last in a Chippewa uniform for six seniors: Addy Marshall, Alex Gonda, Catherine Schneider, Harriet Aburn, Emily Barber and Carly Brengosz.

Emily Barber leads CMU in shots with 25 while Alex Gonda and Carly Brengosz rank second with 16 each.

• Central Michigan leads the league in total saves with 170. Lily Amadio has tallied 136, averaging eight per game. Abigal Ebersole has added 28 saves.

SCOUTING
• Ball State (4-11, 0-4) dropped a 3-2 decision to Appalachian State last weekend.

• Michelle Shampton leads the Cardinals in points with eight (three goals, two assists).

• Grace Chavez has made 62 saves in goal for Ball State.
