SETTING THE SCENE

The Central Michigan field hockey team will host Mid-American Conference foe Ohio on Saturday, Sept. 30 (1 p.m.), and then hit the road to play at Louisville on Sunday, Oct. 1 (1 p.m.).

LAST WEEKEND
CMU is 0-9, 0-1 MAC after dropping its conference opener, 4-0, against Longwood on Saturday. The Chippewas fell to VCU, 2-0, in a nonleague game on Sunday.

CMU LEADERS
Jasmine Banks leads the Chippewas with four points (one goal, two assists), while Carly Brengosz has the lead in shots with 15.

KNOW THE OPPOSITION
• Ohio is 2-8, 0-2 MAC. The Bobcats broke an eight-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Davidson on Sunday.

• Kendall Ballard leads the Bobcats with 16 points (seven goals, two assists).

• Louisville (6-4, 1-1 ACC) topped Wake Forest last Friday, 3-2, and James Madison on Sunday, 4-1.

• Marisa Martin Pelegrina has 13 points (four goals, five assists) to lead the Cardinals, who are ranked 15th.
