MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey has announced its 2014 spring schedule. The Chippewas will start play on March 29 and will play in one tournament.
The Maroon and Gold first travel to Ball State on Saturday, March 29. The competition will consist of seven-on-seven games in the morning and 11-on-11 games in the afternoon.
The Chippewas will continue the spring season an hour down the road at Michigan State on Sunday, April 6. Teams will play 11-on-11 but will continue to play into overtime and into a shootout regardless of the score.
On April 12, CMU travels to Louisville for a two-day tournament. On Saturday, competition will be played 11-on-11 and on Sunday play will continue but feature seven-on-seven action. Many of the teams competing are from the Mid-American and Big Ten Conferences.
The Chippewas will wrap up the spring season on Saturday, April 26 at the CMU Field Hockey Complex with the Alumni Game. Current players will play in a game against recent graduates and other alumni. CMU will celebrate with its team banquet the night before, on Friday, April 25.
