SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan women’s basketball team is scheduled to play host to Vanderbilt on Tuesday (7 p.m.).

It is CMU’s second-consecutive game against an opponent from a Power-5 conference. The Commodores plays in the Southeastern Conference.

The Chippewas are 0-1 after dropping their season opener, 79-69, to Purdue at McGuirk Arena on Friday. The Boilermakers play in the Big Ten.

MILESTONE
CMU’s Presley Hudson scored 21 points against the Boilermakers, surpassing 1,000 points for her career and joining 28 other Chippewas to accomplish the feat. Hudson, a junior guard, enters Tuesday’s game with 1,017 career points.

STANDOUTS
Reyna Frost led CMU with a double-double – 23 points and 16 rebounds – against the Boilermakers. It was the 15th career double-double for the junior forward.

• Redshirt freshman Micaela Kelly played in her first game as a Chippewa against Purdue, finishing with 12 points in 30 minutes.

SCOUTING
• Vanderbilt, which finished 14-16 last season, dropped its season-opener to Middle Tennessee State, 65-54. The Commodores fell to Alabama, 77-57, in the first round of the SEC Tournament a year ago.

• Christa Reed led Vanderbilt with 14 points against MTSU.

NEXT
Central Michigan will entertain College of Charleston on Friday (noon) before hitting the road to the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas on Nov. 24.
