MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan women's basketball coach Sue Guevara has announced the signing of four players who will join her program for the 2018-19 season.

Three of the signees stand 6-foot or better, and all possess good athleticism and can get up and down the floor, Guevara said.

"We're long, we're lanky, we've got 3-point shooters, we've got attackers and we've got a nice big inside," she said.

Two of the players, Anika Weekes and Samantha Robinson, hail from Ontario, while Jahari Smith comes from Illinois and Emari Bell is from Florida.

Smith, Guevara said, compares favorably to former Chippewa Jewell Cotton, a senior during the 2016-17 season who played a key role as the Chippewas won their first regular-season Mid-American Conference championship since 1985.

"She's a leaper, she gets to the basket and plays really hard," Guevara said of Smith. "She can get up and rebound and she can take it the length of the floor."

Robinson, Guevara said, is very quick for her size, is a capable 3-point shooter, and can "mix it up inside and outside."

Bell, likewise, brings "really good size and she can move," Guevara said. "She has a really big upside to her."

Weeks is a 5-foot-10 guard who is "smooth, very smooth," Guevara said. "She's a very good defender with long arms, a really pretty jumpshot and she can also shoot the three."
