MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Reyna Frost has been named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Frost, a junior forward on the CMU women’s basketball team, was named the Most Valuable Player of the MAC Tournament as she led the Chippewas to the tournament crown, their first since 2013.
Frost, a physics major from Reese who carries a 3.74 grade point average, averaged 16.3 points and 13.3 rebounds in CMU's three tournament games. She posted a double-double in all three contests, made 22 of her 39 field goal attempts, and was 11 for 14 from the free throw line.
CMU’s 96-91 victory over Buffalo in the MAC championship game was the Chippewas’ program-record 28th win of the season.
CMU (28-4) plays LSU (19-9) in an NCAA Tournament opener on Saturday (11 a.m.) at Ohio State’s St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
