SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan women’s basketball team looks to remain unbeaten in Mid-American Conference on Wednesday (7 p.m.) when it travels to Ohio.

LAST TIME OUT
The Chippewas, who are 18-3, 10-0 MAC, displayed their dominance as they took down Eastern Michigan, 95-72, in Ypsilanti on Saturday.

WHERE THEY STAND
The Chippewas continue to top the MAC, holding a 3 ½-game lead over second-place Ball State in the West Division, and a two-games lead on East-leading Buffalo in the overall standings.

CMU is ranked fourth in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll and received three votes this week in the USA Today Top 25.

QUOTING COACH
CMU coach Sue Guevara: “One of these days, I’m going to be satisfied. I don’t know when that day will come. I saw a quote: ‘What type of warrior is the most dangerous? One that keeps improving.’ We haven’t hit our prime yet, and that’s the best part. We haven’t hit our prime on either side of the ball. Once we get our defense down and cut down our unforced turnovers, then maybe I’ll be happy.”

SUPERLATIVES
• CMU senior Tinara Moore was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for her performance in the Chippewas’ two wins last week, 86-79 over Buffalo and 95-72 over Eastern Michigan.

• Moore posted a double-double in both victories, and averaged 26 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 blocks.

• Moore scored 28 points against Eastern, and combined with Reyna Frost (15 points) to go 16 for 20 from the floor.

• Frost ranks first in the MAC and ninth nationally with 12 rebounds per game.

• CMU is ranked third in the nation for free throw percentage, draining 80.8 percent attempts from the stripe.

SCOUTING
Ohio topped Ball State, 80-76, on Saturday.

• Cierra Hooks averages 13.5 points per game while also recording five rebounds to lead the Bobcats in both categories.

• Taylor Agler leads Ohio in assists (4.6 per game).

REMATCH
Central Michigan defeated Ohio, 82-58, during CMU’s first home league game on the season on Jan. 3.

NEXT
The Chippewas are scheduled to play host to Toledo (15-8, 6-5 MAC) at McGuirk Arena on Feb. 10.

Following the game, a clinic featuring coaches and players from CMU women’s basketball, lacrosse, soccer and volleyball teams is schedule inside both McGuirk Arena and Parfitt Gymnastium.

The clinics mark the 32nd anniversary of the Women’s Sports Foundation’s National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
