MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Tinara Moore was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for women’s basketball.
Moore, a 6-foot-3 senior, averaged 26 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 blocks in leading CMU to a pair of victories that kept the Chippewas unbeaten in MAC play and atop the West Division.
Moore posted double-doubles, giving her 10 for the season, in an 86-79 home victory over Buffalo and a 95-72 win at Eastern Michigan.
Against the Bulls, Moore finished with 24 points and 15 rebounds, and against Eastern, she had 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four blocks. She made a combined 63 percent (17 of 27) of her field goal attempts and 81 percent (17 of 21) of her free throw tries.
Moore, who earlier this season became the program’s all-time leader in blocks, leads the Chippewas in scoring at 18.6 points per game and ranks second with 9.4 rebounds per. It marks the third time this season that she has earned the West Player of the Week Award.
The Chippewas, who are 18-3, 10-0 MAC, play at Ohio (12-9, 6-4) in a league game on Wednesday, Feb. 7. CMU is ranked fifth in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.
