SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan women’s basketball team is scheduled to play host to Mid-American Conference foe Kent State on Saturday (1 p.m.).

LAST TIME OUT
The Chippewas topped Bowling Green, 90-54, at McGuirk Arena on Wednesday, improving to 12-3, 4-0 MAC. CMU stands atop the MAC West and is the only unbeaten team in the league.

CMU junior forward Reyna Frost scored 25 points – two shy of her career high – and grabbed nine rebounds as the Chippewas dominated the Falcons. Frost came within one board of her fourth consecutive double-double and her ninth of the season.

Junior guard Presley Hudson added 18 points and a career-high nine assists without committing a turnover in the victory.

It was the fifth time this season that CMU has reached the 90-point plateau.

CHIPPEWA NOTES
• The Chippewas are ranked eighth nationally in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.

• Frost is third in the nation in rebounding, averaging 13.3 per game. She is fourth in offensive rebounding, averaging 5.0 per game.

• Hudson is fourth in the MAC in scoring, averaging 18.4 points per game. She is also third in assists (5.6 per game). CMU senior Tinara Moore ranks sixth in the conference in scoring (16.9) and third in rebounds (9.1).

• Moore was named the MAC West Player of the Week on Tuesday. It is the second time this season that she has earned the honor. Frost has also twice been so honored.

• Central Michigan is third in the nation in free throw percentage, making 82.9 percent of its attempts at the charity stripe.

• The Chippewas lead the MAC with 43.7 rebounds per game, and are out-rebounding their opponents by an average of 10.2 per game, which ranks first in the league and 12th nationally. CMU’s 43.7 per-game rebound average ranks 19th nationally.

• The Chippewas are making a league-leading 45.6 percent of their field goal attempts, and are knocking down 39 percent of their triple tries, which is second in the league.

SCOUTING
Kent State is 9-7, 2-2. The Golden Flashes defeated Eastern Michigan, 76-69, on Wednesday at home.

The Golden Flashes’ Jordan Korinek ranks third in the MAC in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game. McKenna Stephans is Kent State’s rebounding leader, averages 6.1 rebounds per game, leading the Golden Flashes in that category.

Central Michigan go to Northern Illinois for a MAC game on Jan. 17. The Huskies, who are 10-5, 2-2, play at Toledo on Saturday.
