The Central Michigan women’s basketball team is scheduled to play host to Ohio on Wednesday (7 p.m.) at McGuirk Arena. It is the Chippewas’ first home league game of the season.

• The Chippewas opened MAC play with a big 69-65 win over Ball State, which entered the game 11-0 and ranked fifth in the Mid-Major Top 25.

• Junior forward Reyna Frost tied her season-high with 23 points and set a season-high in rebounds with 19 against Ball State. It was her sixth double-double of the season and she was named on Tuesday the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for her performance against the Cardinals. The Chippewas grabbed a season-high 55 rebounds in the contest.

The win over Ball State snapped CMU’s two-game losing streak and lifted the Chippewas to 9-3. They are ranked 13th by

• CMU ranks second in the nation in free throw percentage (83.3 percent). The Chippewas made 17-of-19 attempts at the charity stripe against Ball State.

• Central Michigan tops the league in rebounding, averaging 43.7 boards per game. The Chippewas tallied 55 against the Cardinals.

• Frost ranks second in the nation at 13.5 rebounds per game.

• Junior guard Presley Hudson leads the Chippewas and ranks fourth in the MAC in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game. Hudson is also third in the conference in assists per game (5.3).

• Ohio is 7-5, 1-0 MAC after defeating Toledo, 78-61, in its MAC opener.

• Amani Burke, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard, is the the Bobcats’ leading scorer at 13.1 points per game.

• Cierra Hooks, a 5-8 freshman guard, has racked up 39 steals for Ohio, ranking her third in the MAC. She is also Ohio’s leader in rebounds per game (4.8).

• Dominique Doseck, a junior guard, scored a career-high 27 points in the Bobcats' win over Toledo. Doseck was named the MAC East Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to wins over the Rockets and over North Carolina A&T.

The Chippewas will be back on the road to face Miami (Ohio) on Saturday (2 p.m.) in a MAC game. The RedHawks are 9-3, 1-0, and play at Ball State on Wednesday.
