The Team All-Academic honor for the 2016 season marks the sixth in a row for the Chippewa women’s team, and the fifth in a row for the men.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.2 grade point average or better and appear in at least 50 percent of his or her team’s competitions. Freshman and first-year transfers are ineligible.
The men's team was fittingly led by its two seniors, Spencer Nousain and Casey Voisin, who led CMU to a 20th place finish in the 30-team field.
Central Michigan will compete in the event, scheduled for the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, on Friday. The women will run first at 1 p.m., while the gun for the men’s race will go off at approximately 2 p.m.
