The Central Michigan football team will take on Southeastern Conference power LSU in 2021.
The game, finalized last week, will be the first time the Chippewas have faced LSU, a three-time national champion (1958, 2003, 2007). LSU entered the 2011 national title game unbeaten, but lost to Alabama.
“The passion LSU fans have for football is special,” CMU Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford said. “This will be a special trip for our student-athletes, giving them a chance to compete in the heart of SEC country, in one of the finest environments in college football.”
With LSU, three nonconference games are scheduled for CMU in 2021. The Chippewas are on the road Sept. 11, 2021, at South Florida, play at home a week later against Florida Atlantic and are at LSU on Sept. 25.
“I spent three seasons in Louisiana with the Saints, and I had the honor of experiencing a game day at Tiger Stadium as a guest of (then LSU coach) Les Miles,” CMU coach John Bonamego said. “For our fans, it is a great road trip that I highly recommend. I love that we get a chance to introduce CMU football to that region of the country.”
This season, CMU is 2-0 and is on the road Saturday to face Syracuse in a 3:30 p.m. game. The Chippewas are at home Sept. 23 against Miami in a 3:30 p.m. game that will include a giveaway of 10,000 Ford thundersticks.
Single-game game tickets purchased in advance cost $22 for adults, $15 for youths/seniors. General admission seating is $12. Group pricing – for a purchase of 10 or more tickets – is $10 per ticket. On game day, the pricing is $25 for adults, $18 for youths/seniors, $15 for general admission and $12 for group pricing.
The CMU Family Pack is popular, and for $65 fans receive four reserved tickets to any of the five home games. Family Packs are only available on the day of the game.
As always, fans are encouraged to purchase parking in advance to ensure a spot. Advance purchase parking is $10. Game-day parking passes are $15.
