MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Four Central Michigan senior football players are scheduled to compete in college all-star games in January.
Defensive end Joe Ostman will play in the East-West Shrine Game, tight end Tyler Conklin will play in the Senior Bowl, and defensive backs Amari Coleman and Josh Cox will play in the NFL Players Association Collegiate Bowl.
The East-West Shrine Game and the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20, while the Senior Bowl is set for Jan. 27. The East-West Shrine game will be played in Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla; the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will be played in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The Senior Bowl will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Birmingham, Ala.
Ostman, a First Team All-Mid-American Conference selection, led the nation with 14 sacks in 2017, and finished his career with 28. Both totals are second in Chippewa history.
Conklin, who earned third team all-conference honors, made 35 catches for 504 yards and five touchdowns while playing eight games this season.
Cox is a safety who a made six interceptions on the year, tying for the second most in program history.
Coleman, a cornerback, made three interceptions, broke up eight passes and defended 11 while earned First Team All-MAC honors for the second-consecutive year.
