MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Two Central Michigan seniors have been invited to play in the 90th East-West Shrine Game scheduled for Jan. 17, 2015, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

CMU wide receiver Titus Davis and defensive tackle Leterrius Walton were invited to the game, which features many of the nation’s top college seniors going head-to-head on squads divided geographically.

More than 265 East-West Shrine Game alumni are currently on NFL rosters, including former CMU standouts Jahleel Addae of the San Diego Chargers and Nick Bellore of the New York Jets.

Davis earned his second consecutive Herb Deromedi Most Valuable Player Award for the Chippewas, who finished 7-6 in 2014.

He appeared in 10 games this season, leading the Chippewas with 60 receptions for 980 yards and a school-record 13 touchdowns.

He is CMU’s career leader in touchdown receptions (37), receiving yardage (3,705) and is the only receiver in FBS history to make at least eight TD receptions in his four seasons. His four TD catches in the Chippewas’ 49-48 loss to Western Kentucky is a CMU single-game record, and that number tied a Football Bowl Subdivision single-game record.
Davis was a First Team All-Mid American Conference selection in 2013 and 2014 and was named, in 2014, to the Biletnikoff Award Presason Watch List for the second straight year.

Davis finished second in the MAC in 2014 in per-game scoring (7.8), third in in receiving yards per game (98.5), and fourth in receptions per game (6.0).

The East-West Shrine Game, which kicks off at 4 p.m. and will be televised live on NFL Network, serves as a fundraiser for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Walton finished the season with 33 tackles including 19 solos, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, two sacks, six quarterback hurries, and one fumble recovery. He also was credited with one forced fumble and earned First Team All-MAC honors.

He finished his career with 106 tackles including 46 solos, 18.5 tackles-for-loss, six sacks and two forced fumbles.
