MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan pitcher Jimmy McNamara, who is playing for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen of the Midwest Collegiate League this summer, has been named the MCL's South All-Star squad. Also earning the honor last season, McNamara is one of two Oilmen to be the first in franchise history to participate in multiple MCL All-Star Games in their careers.

McNamara has worked 21.1 innings for third-place Northwest Indiana, possessing a 3.80 ERA in four starts. He has recorded 21 strikeouts while walking only one batter all season.

In his sophomore season of 2014, McNamara made 19 appearances for Central Michigan, all in relief. He compiled a perfect 3-0 record with a 3.82 ERA in 30.2 innings of work, recording one save.

The Midwest Collegiate League All-Star Game will take place on Wednesday, July 9 at Oil City Stadium in Whiting, Ind., with the first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The MCL, a summer wood bat baseball league founded in 2010, plays a nine-week, 36-game regular season schedule in addition to holding an All-Star Game and postseason league playoff. The league also features a Scout Evaluation Day as part of its All-Star Festivities.
