From the Desk of Peter McGahey:Soccer Champions,
We would first like to thank the supporters of the Central Michigan
University Women's Soccer Team. The women's soccer program has come a long
way, with a large part of that success due to the support of people like
you, through the Chippewa Club and Championship Fund.
The Championship Fund is a list of needs that go above and beyond our traditional operating expenditures, assisting us as we strive to be a championship level program in the Mid-American Conference and at the regional and national level.
With the combined dedication of our student-athletes, coaching staff, past letter winners and donors there is no doubt that we will continue to compete at a championship level. We hope to count on you to assist us as we continue to elevate our program.

Current Championship Fund InitiativesChips Helping Chips
The "Chips helping Chips" is a collaboration with well-known Exercise Science professor in Health Professions, Dr. Paul O'Connor. This partnership with Dr. O'Connor will enhance our soccer players in the following areas as well as benefit our overall student-athlete experience and contribute to the overall educational mission of CMU: ‘next level' sports science technology, GPS tracking for all activities/enhanced performance analysis, injury reduction/player safety, enhanced physical testing & monitoring and Chips helping Chips partnership! This project has several benefits to improve the overall student-athlete experience here at CMU!
Annual Cost: $5,500
Fit for 90
The overall well-being of our student athletes is very important. "Fit for 90" is a program we started last year and it proved to be successful for our team. This program focuses on each player individually and allows our student-athletes to track the following from their smart phones: self-tracking/reporting, injury reduction/player safety/improved development, enhance player's recovery/improved athletic performance and individualized training load and muscle soreness information/proactive action. This program enhances the overall mission of student-athletes at CMU.
Annual Cost: $2,000
Computers and film cutting software
Professional development is important because it allows the coaches to further their knowledge of the game and train us to better enhance the performance of coaches and athletes alike. Whether it be from clinics or earning additional soccer licenses/certifications, these education enhancements will help us train our women to compete at a championship level. This also helps us to remain on the cutting edge, continuing to focus and increase our knowledge in sport science and bring in strength & conditioning staff.
Annual Cost: $5,000
