Softball Closes Break With 6-1 Win

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Laura Vaccaro hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning and earned the victory in the circle on Sunday as the Central Michigan softball team downed Seton Hall, 6-1, at Eddie C. Moore Field.
It was the Chippewas' final game of the South Florida Under Armour Showcase, and the final game of their Spring Break trip. CMU went 5-7 in Florida. The Chippewas (8-11) will return to the diamond on March 21 when they play at No. 22 Michigan (18-6).
IN THE CIRCLE
Cloe Mallory started in the circle for CMU. She allowed one run on four hits over 3 1/3 innings. Vaccaro (2-1) went the final 3 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two.
Losing pitcher Madison Strunk (3-4) allowed four runs and four hits.
AT THE PLATE
Vaccaro's home run, the first of her career, highlighted a four-run Chippewa sixth inning.
Rachel Vieira doubled, tripled and drove in two runs to lead CMU's 10-hit attack. Allison Curtis and Erika Underwood added two hits apiece. Curtis finished with two RBI.
