One of the top women's basketball players in Chippewa history, Jody led her four teams to a record of 81-35 with two Mid-American Conference championships and two second-place finishes ... an outstanding student as well as a player, Beerman was a first team GTE-CoSIDA Academic All-American in 1987 and an honorable mention pick in '86 ... earned first team academic all-MAC three times and first team as a player once and second team once ... was HM freshman all-American in 1984 and twice made the MAC all-tourney team ... third-leading scorer in CMU annals with 1,527 points and second in assists with 445 ... ranks No. 1 in career free throw percentage at .851 ... led the nation in free throw percentage in 1985-86 at .905 ... holds five single-season marks and set an NCAA mark for consecutive free throws with 57.
