Craig Willey is a Chippewa through and through.
A native of Ishpeming in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Willey earned his bachelor’s degree from CMU in 2002 and is working on his master’s thesis. He is a 2009 graduate of the Rollie Denison Leadership Institute.
As the university’s Senior Associate Athletic Director – External Operations, Willey is responsible for the administrative oversight of annual fundraising for the Chippewa Athletic Fund along with department marketing, tickets and athletic communication.
Among Willey's other duties are a focus on fundraising, Kelly/Shorts Stadium suite sales, donor relations and customer service, and he serves as the sport administrator for the CMU wrestling program.
Upon earning his degree from CMU, Willey joined the athletic department as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions.
He then served for three years as the Chippewa Club Director and, in 2008, became the Assistant Athletic Director -- Chippewa Athletic Fund.
He became the Associate Athletic Director -- Chipppewa Athletic Fund in 2010.
Craig and his wife Kristin, a 2004 CMU graduate, have two children, Chase and Carter.
