MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Football American style and football as the rest of the world refers to it comprise the subjects at Sideliners, the weekly radio show that offers listeners an inside look at Central Michigan athletics.
The weekly radio show hosted by Don Chiodo originates from Hunter’s Ale House in Mount Pleasant beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The show is carried live on WUPS-FM 98.5.
Scheduled to join Chiodo this week are Central Michigan football coach John Bonamego and soccer coach Peter McGahey. Also expected to join the show are Chris Ostrowsky, the Chippewas’ first-year offensive coordinator, along with quarterback Shane Morris, along with Lexi Pelafas and Mary Carlson of the soccer team.
The CMU football team is 2-0 after a 45-27 win at Kansas last week. The Chippewas are scheduled to travel to Syracuse on Saturday to take on the Orange, seeking for the first time in program history back-to-back wins over schools representing Power Five conferences.
The Chippewa soccer team has won four of its last five starts and takes a 4-2-1 record into a nonconference home game on Saturday (noon) against Mount St. Mary’s. The Chippewas open Mid-American Conference play with a weekend trip to Ohio to take on Kent State on Friday, Sept. 22, and Ohio on Sunday, Sept. 24.
There is no admission charge for Sideliners, and an RSVP is not necessary. Fans arriving before 6 p.m. will have the opportunity to interact with coaching staff and student-athletes in an informal setting.
