MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan women’s soccer team will be in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons as they face in-state foe Michigan in the first round as an at-large bid, the NCAA revealed Monday afternoon as it announced the full tournament bracket.
The first-round match between the Chippewas (15-6-1) and the Wolverines (14-5-2) will take place Saturday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at the U-M Soccer Stadium.
The Chippewas are the first team in conference history to earn an at-large bid to the tournament. They join MAC Tournament Champion Miami (Ohio) in the field.
Central Michigan is 1-2 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, with a win over Purdue in 2009.
