SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Winter weather brought Monday's baseball game between Central Michigan and Notre Dame to a halt in the sixth inning on Monday at Frank Eck Stadium.
CMU led 3-2 in the sixth inning and Dale Cornstubble was up with a 2-0 count and the bases loaded with two outs when the game was postponed.
The Chippewas took the lead when Jeff Helps was hit by a pitch with the bases full, forcing home a run. Noah Lankford tied the game at two with a two-run double in the second after Notre Dame jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first.
The make-up date has been announced as May 12 at Frank Eck Stadium.
It is unclear at this time if the game will be resumed from the point the weather forced the delay, or if it will be replayed in its entirety.
