MOUNT PLEASANT -- Ohio scored early and often en route to a 5-0 victory over Ball State Thursday in the second quarterfinal match of the 2010 Mid-American Conference tournament at the Central Michigan Field Hockey Complex.

The No. 3 Bobcats (12-9, 7-3 MAC) first hit the scoreboard at 8:48 on a goal by Laura Mastro, who had an assist two minutes later on a goal by Brittany Zorn. The Bobcats added goals from Cathryn Altdoerffer, Louzeth Schutte and Brooke Edwards, who also had two assists.

Chelsea Mitchell recorded five saves in goal for the No 6. Cardinals (6-14, 2-8 MAC) and Courtney Seiders had one save for the Bobcats.

No. 3 Ohio advances to face No. 2 Miami in the semifinals on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
