... that CMU is just the fourth program in the history of the Mid-American Conference to compete in a bowl game three consecutive seasons and in 2009 can become the first current MAC member to play in four straight bowl games.

... that CMU is the 22nd-winningest program in Bowl Subdivision history with an all-time winning percentage of .608.

... that the Chippewas have had 13 games televised on the ESPN family of networks since the start of the 2007 season and have made 18 total television appearances during that time.

... that CMU’s home game against Ball State in 2008 was the most viewed and highest rated college football game ever for a Tuesday or Wednesday night on ESPN or ESPN2.

... that CMU’s streak of four straight winning seasons is the longest current streak in the MAC.

... that CMU led the MAC in attendance in 2008. The per-game attendance and total attendance were the highest for a five-game home schedule since 1986.

... that in the past three years, Sporting News has selected CMU as having the best fans, best pregame atmosphere and best stadium in the Mid-American Conference.

... that the CMU football program has been featured in major national media outlets including ESPN.com, SI.com, Yahoo! Sports, CBSSports.com, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Detroit Free Press and Detroit News. ESPN’s College Gameday, College Gameday Final, College Football Live and ESPN2’s First Take have all covered the Chippewas.

... that the 2008 Motor City Bowl received the highest television ratings of any of the five bowl games involving MAC teams. Approximately 2.4 million people watched the game on ESPN. The 2007 Motor City Bowl drew a television audience of approximately 2.6 million.

... that both Dan LeFevour and Brian Brunner have earned “Helmet Sticker” awards from ESPN’s College Gameday Final crew of Rece Davis, Lou Holtz and Mark May over the past two seasons.

... that the CMU football program participates in numerous community service initiatives, including: Recess with the Chippewas, Christmas Outreach, Mount Pleasant Dickens Christmas Festival, Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival, Red Cross Canned Food Drive, Tendercare Nursing Home, Michigan Special Olympics, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Soul Bowl, area elementary school field day events, Chip Away Malaria youth clinic and the Super Chippewa Saturday free youth clinic.

... that Antonio Brown is one of just two players in NCAA history to earn first team all-conference honors at three positions in the same season (WR, KR, PR in 2008).

... that Athlon Sports rated CMU’s receivers and tight ends as the No. 9 receiving corps in the nation in its 2009 season preview issue.

... that CMU led the MAC in Academic All-District selections in 2007 and 2008. CMU has led the MAC in Academic All-MAC selections in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

... that CMU’s 2009 recruiting class was ranked No. 1 in the MAC by Scout.com.

... that Bryan Anderson enters the 2009 season with more receptions (226) and receiving yards (2,864) than any other active receiver in the nation. His streak of 40 consecutive games with a catch also is the longest in the country.

... that Dan LeFevour enters his senior season 14th in NCAA history with 11,702 yards of total offense. He is one of just two players in NCAA history to pass for at least 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season, and he also is one of just two players to pass for 20 touchdowns and score 20 touchdowns in the same season.
