Mount Pleasant, Mich. - The Central Michigan baseball program announced its 2014 schedule Thursday, one that features 19 home games, five home Mid-American Conference series and the fourth annual Clash at Comerica versus in-state foe Michigan State.
"Anytime you can have five home MAC series is a benefit to our program," head coach Steve Jaksa said. "We love playing at home. Its an environment that we like and our fans enjoy as well. We really like our schedule and how it is set up from start to finish."
After playing their first 20 games of the season on the road, the Chippewas will host their home opener versus Madonna on March 18.
The Mid-American Conference season will open at Ohio on March 21 and and the Maroon and Gold play the first of five home MAC series versus Miami March 28-30.

"Anytime you get an opportunity to play at Comerica its great," Jaksa said. "It was unfortunate we didn't have the best weather last year, but we are excited that the game is in May and will give our fans a chance to enjoy baseball in a little better climate later in the year."
CMU will also play in-state foes Oakland and Michigan twice during the regular season, including a home contest versus the Wolverines on May 6.
Other non-conference opponents for the Chippewas include UNLV, Troy, Boston College, St. Bonaventure, Northeastern, Villanova, Central Florida and the University of Incarnate Word.
