MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan senior gymnast Kristin Teubner has been named the Mid-American Conference female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Teubner continued her stellar streak of performances last Sunday versus George Washington, scoring above a 39 in the all-around for the third straight meet. The senior scored a 9.8 or better in three first-place finishes, capping her day with a season-best 9.875 on the floor. She has broke 39 in all three meets in February and has scored a 9.8 or better 12 times during the stretch.
A native of Denver, Colo., Teubner maintains a 3.69 grade point average as a health fitness major.
The award marks the third time in four weeks that a female student-athlete from CMU has been named Scholar-Athlete of the Week as Teubner joins fellow recipients Holly Anderson of the women's track and field program and teammate Brittany Petzold.
