Field Hockey Adds Stalars to Roster
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan field hockey coach Cristy Freese has announced the addition of Belgian national midfielder Maude Stalars to the Chippewas’ roster for the 2013 season.

“We are excited to have Maude join our program beginning this fall and round out a great incoming freshman class,” said Freese. “Maude brings a wealth of field hockey experience which should help her compete at the Division I level and contribute to our championship goals this season.”

A native of Rhode-Saint-Genese, Stalars has been part of the Belgium national field hockey program since 2009, competing at the U15 (2009-10), U16 (2011), and U18 (2012-13) levels.

Stalars’ national and international playing career has been marked by achievement. She won a gold medal in 2010 and 2011 at the National Indoor Championship and placed third in 2012. At the National Outdoor Championship, Stalars captured gold in 2011 and silver in 2012. At the 2012 EuroCup, her team placed third in Pool B.

The Chippewas open the 2013 at home on Friday, Aug. 30, hosting Robert Morris in a 2 p.m. match at the CMU Field Hockey Complex.
