MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Chippewas were able to provide the second and third teams with a lot of reps during the squad's final scrimmage of preseason camp, which wrapped up today in front of members of the 1100 Club.
"We worked on a lot of different situations. The ones-on-ones were out there for the majority of the first part of practice and were able to get in all of our special teams. There were some guys who were we hoping to get a closer look at than others and we were able to do that," said head coach Dan Enos.
Watch the complete post-practice interview with Enos and running back Zurlon Tipton in the video above. Enos and Insider host Justin Hoff discuss a variety of topics including the one-two combination of Tipton and Anthony Garland at running back, the team's new jerseys, the 1100 Club luncheon, and turning the team's focus from preseason camp to preparations for Southeast Missouri State.
"I've been very pleased with the maturity of the team and the focus of this team, and just the overall chemistry of this team," said Enos when asked about his overall thoughts on training camp. "We are really excited about our opener. A lot of people want to talk about some other games but we are focused on game one. SEMO will have our undivided attention."
The Chippewas, who enjoyed a luncheon with 1100 Club members following practice, will have Sunday and Monday off before officially beginning preparations Tuesday for game one.
