Associate Athletics Director for Academic and Student Development Jason Holtman has been named Region III Director of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.

The N4A is an organization of over 1,000 advisors throughout the country dedicated to promoting the integrity of their profession by providing guiding principles and quality services to one another. The country is structured into five regions, Holtman and CMU residing in Region III.

"The National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics has been a big part of my growth and professional development," Holtman said. "Our members are dedicated to the success of our student-athletes, and I'm proud to serve the organization for the upcoming year."

Holtman's role within the N4A will entail communicating with the region's members under the direction of the president, representing the region for the board of directors as well as coordinating the regional conference, which will be held at Michigan State University in April.

"This opportunity is exciting for me because I will be able to get my staff more involved in the organization," Holtman added.

As an active member since 1994, Holtman's involvement with the membership committee, the strategic planning committee and a task force looking into certification of student-athlete academic advisors led his peers to elect him as director.
