Corby Named to NWCA All-Academic Team

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan sophomore Donnie Corby has been named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team.

Corby is one of 93 wrestlers nationwide selected to the team. The biology major maintains a 3.36 grade-point average.

Corby earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships after finishing runner-up at the Mid-American Conference Championships. He was 25-16 overall in 2011, including a pair of victories at the national tournament.

A two-time Academic All-MAC honoree, Corby was named CMU's Most Improved Wrestler in 2011.

CMU earned a share of the MAC regular season title, won its 10th straight conference tournament championship and finished tied for 13th at the NCAA Championships in 2011.
