MOUNT PLEASANT - Senior outside hitter Lindsey Dulude was named to the Capital One Academic All-District V First Team Thursday afternoon, becoming the first Central Michigan volleyball student-athlete to earn the honor since Wendy Feldman earned All-District IV honors in 1997 and 1998.
The Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Dulude ranks in the top six in six different categories in CMU history, including second with 105 service aces and fourth in solo blocks with 44. She recently became the 15th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-kil plateau and ranks sixth all-time in rally scoring history with 1,004.
A native of Midland, Mich., Dulude has earned a 3.97 grade point average as language arts/education major.
With the first-team honor, Dulude becomes eligible to earn Academic All-American honors. The Academic All-American teams will be announced Thursday, Nov. 29.
