Kinniard, Labrecque and Outcalt Receive Academic All-MAC Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Central Michigan soccer team earned three Academic All-Mid-American Conference team selections announced by the league office on Monday.

Tory Kinniard, Grace Labrecque and Estee Outcalt were all key components during the 2013 season providing senior leadership to a squad that tallied seven shutouts during conference play.

Tory Kinniard received Academic All-Mid-American accolades after being named an honorable mention last season. In 2013, Tory recorded her first career goal in a 2-0 win at Akron on Oct. 18. Kinniard also recorded an assist on the game winning overtime goal at Buffalo. The social work major from Batavia, Ill. ranked second in assists, tied for fourth in points and appeared in every game for the Chippewas during the 2013 season. Kinniard was voted team captain by her fellow teammates prior to the season.

Goalkeeper Grace Labrecque received her first Academic All-MAC honor. Labcrecque  was awarded All-MAC Second Team honors after making her mark in the CMU record books during the 2013 season. The exercise science major now ranks fifth all-time in shutouts in a season with eight. She concluded her career ranking fourth all-time in program history with 11 career shutouts. The Battle Creek native recorded six shutouts in seven games to end the regular season. Among the Great Lakes Division I region, Labrecque ranks sixth in save percentage (.847), ninth in goals against average (.891) and 10th in saves per game (4.8).

Estee Outcalt received Academic All-MAC accolades for the second consecutive year after recording a perfect 4.0 GPA during her career as a Chippewa. Outcalt was named All-MAC First Team for the first time in her career in November. The defender from Mooresville, Ind. helped anchor a defense that ranked second in the MAC, allowing only eight goals in conference play. Outcalt started every game in 2013, posting a team-high three assists with a perfect shot on goal percentage.
