The Series
Central Michigan has defeated Davenport in each of its two meetings, opening the series with a 11-5 victory in 2010 before defeating the Panthers last season, 15-7.

Scouting the Panthers
A member of the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference of the NAIA, Davenport has an overall record of 28-12 this season. The Panthers are in the midst of a five-game winning streak and have won 13 of their last 15 contests.

Offensively, Michael Allen paces the offense with a .364 batting average, 16 doulbes and 35 RBI. The Panthers have a team batting average of .306 and have stolen 87 bases on 108 attempts this season.

The Panthers pitching staff has posted a 3.21 team ERA and allowed opposing teams to bat just .231.

Last Season
Tyler Huntey reached base safely in all five plate appearance with two doubles, a single and a pair of walks and Nick Regnier went 2-for-2 with three runs scored to help the Chippewas earn a 15-7 win. The two teams combined to walk 21 batters in the contest and hit an additional six batters to make up 27 free passes in the game.

Matt Trowbridge struck out four batters over 5.1 innings of work to earn the win, while both Dylan Rheault and Kenton San Miguel pitched in relief for the Chippewas.

Jacobs Finding His Stride
Redshirt freshman Neal Jacobs has been on fire at the plate over his last 10 games, batting .351 (13-for-37) with a team-high nine RBI. The left fielder has a pair of home runs during the stretch and currently leads the team with five on the season.

Trowbridge Keeps Climbing Saves List
Sophomore closer Matt Trowbridge became just the fourth pitcher in program history to record at least eight saves in a season Sunday, moving into sole possession of third place on the CMU single-season chart. Trowbridge is now just two saves shy of the CMU record of 10 set by David LeMieux in 2003.
