MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan track and field program will compete this weekend in its last opportunity to qualify for the Mid-American Conference Championships at the GVSU Tune-Up on Friday and the Silverston Invitational at the University of Michigan on Saturday.
The men’s squad enters the weekend ranked 13th in the region, while the women’s team is ranked 16th.
“It’s our last shot to get performances to earn the right to compete in the MAC Meet,” director of track and field Mark Guthrie said.
Twenty-two athletes between both squads have qualified for the MAC Indoor Championships starting on February 28 in Kent, Ohio. This weekend will be the last chance for the Maroon and Gold to qualify.
