MOUNT PLEASANT - In honor of the 11th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks and out of appreciation for local first responders, the Central Michigan softball team delivered baked goods to and visited with Mount Pleasant’s local heroes.
“It was a great opportunity to go with fellow teammates and thank local first responders for what they do for us,” junior catcher Cory DeLamielleure said. “Having a brother as a police officer makes me and my family extremely grateful for what they do and the sacrifices they make. It takes a lot of courage to put your life on the line every day and that is something we should all appreciate.”
The Chippewas baked cookies and delivered them to the Central Michigan University Campus Police, the Mount Pleasant Police, the Isabella County Police and emergency medical services workers at Mount Pleasant Community Hospital as a small way of thanking them for everything they do to keep the community safe.
