The Hudsonville, Mich., native went 2-1 last week, with an astonishing 0.42 ERA. Dornbos faced 24 straight batters without allowing a walk (125 pitches) and in her 16.2 innings pitched she allowed one earned run.
In a non-conference game against IPFW she struck out six batters while allowing five hits, none of which resulted in an earned run.
In MAC play she threw two complete games against Ohio and Akron. In the win against Akron, Dornbos picked up her fifth shutout this season. In the game against Ohio, Dornbos had a runner on second and the tying run at the plate with no outs. She retired the final three batters, two of which were her only two strikeouts in the game, preserving the 3-1 CMU win.
The Maroon and Gold will host Eastern Michigan on Saturday and Sunday in the final two games of the regular season. Saturday's game will begin at 2 p.m. and be the annual Strike Out Cancer game, while Sunday's senior day, will begin at 1 p.m.
