MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan softball player Brittney Horan was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week on May 6. This is the first time in her career she received the honor and she is the sixth Chippewa to earn player of the week honors this season.
Horan had a team-high nine RBIs over the final weekend of Mid-American Conference play. Horan hit her fifth double of the season in game two at Akron on May 3, which scored two runs. In game one at Ohio, she went 2-3 at the plate and drove home three runs. Horan came back in game two and went 4-4 with her sixth double on the year and brought in a game-high four runs. She was a perfect 5-5 on steal attempts over the weekend and scored four runs. Horan has 31 RBIs this season, second on the team, and 12 extra base hits.
