Full Release from NSCAA

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan senior defender Liesel Toth was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Third Team, the organization announced late last week.

Toth (Victor N.Y./Victor HS) becomes the second NSCAA Scholar All-America selection in program history, joining former CMU standout Shay Mannino, who was named to the third team in 2009.

A health fitness major with a 3.86 grade point average, Toth started all 21 games during her final campaign en route to earning Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors and helping the Chippewas post a MAC record by allowing just seven goals during the regular season. Toth was also an NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region first-team selection and was First Team All-MAC.

Toth was one of just two MAC players named to the Scholar All-America team as she was joined by fellow third-team selection Natalia Gaitan of Toledo.
