Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Central Michigan senior Niki DiGuilio has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Central Michigan’s all-time three-point leader set a new personal standard Saturday, knocking down 8-of-12 three-point field goals to score a game-high 24 points and move CMU within one game of clinching its first MAC West title in program history.
DiGuilio made the second most threes in a game in program history with eight and extended her consecutive games with at least one three made to 28. The performance helped the Chippewas improve to 12-0 in conference play, moving them within a game of the West Division title. DiGuilio is on pace to become just the third player in MAC history to eclipse 300 three-point field goals and leads the CMU record book with 270.
A native of Mount Vernon, Ohio, DiGuilio ranks third in the country with 3.4 three-point field goals per game. She ranks 11th in the MAC in scoring (13.8), fifth in three-point field goal percentage (.398) and first in three-point field goals made per game.
The Chippewas will be back in action Wednesday night at Bowling Green at 7 p.m.
