DETROIT - Head coach Dan Enos, senior defensive back Jahleel Addae and senior offensive lineman Eric Fisher represented Central Michigan football Tuesday at the 2012 Mid-American Conference Football Media Day at Ford Field, marking the beginning of the 2012 season.
The three Chippewas, along with head coaches and players from around the conference, fielded questions throughout the day from local, regional and national print and electronic media members.
Enos and the players were optimistic as they previewed the Chippewas’ upcoming season, one of the most anticipated in school history.
“Our roster is the most complete it has been since I've been here,” Enos said. "We have great depth at every position and we're excited to get this season going."
In addition to speaking with reporters from the Mid-Michigan area, ESPN3.com broadcasted live interviews with each of the schools.
Enos and his staff also helped instruct at a youth football clinic at Ford Field on Monday, where the children learned not only about on-field techniques and strategies, but also sportsmanship and character buildling.
The conference also released its preseason polls in conjunction with the Media Day. The Chippewas, who received one first-place vote, were picked by a collection of MAC media members to finish sixth in the West Division.
The Chippewas will open their season against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. They will appear on ESPNU against Michigan State on Saturday, Sept. 8, and on ESPN2 against Navy on Friday, Oct. 12. The contests at Toledo and at home against Western Michigan will be carried on ESPN3.
The MAC also announced a four-year extension through 2015 with Ford Field as the host and Marathon as the title sponsor of the Marathon MAC Football Championship Game. The 2012 edition will be contested Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
